Poured Paint Frame

A paint poured frame I made to match some artwork I purchased at the Denver Art Fair in 2023.

Poured Paint Frame

Back in May 2023 I purchased this Ngorongoro Crater Lion print at the Denver Art Festival from Jessica Mahan and decided that it needed a fun, matching frame. I found some ready-to-pour paints, paint cup, and some frames from the craft store and got to work.

This project was actually done last summer but I'm just now finally getting around to making the blog post.

After practicing on the first frame, I was satisfied with the result I had gotten on the second frame.
Finished and hung on the wall

My main issues with the poured paint was that it peeled really easily off the frame. I think next time I will try sanding down the frames first to see if that helps with adhesion.
